With 2016 coming to a close, we recognize the successes our team at Sun Valley Nissan made this year on behalf of customers and stakeholders alike.
Dear Friends:
I want to reach out and sincerely thank you, our loyal customers, and staff for making 2016 a prosperous and wonderfully beneficial year for Sun Valley Nissan. We couldn’t do it without you!
There have been challenges for sure, but overall we made many new friends as we got a great many new opportunities to demonstrate our products and services to the good people of the Kootenays.
The local economy experienced some strong headwinds as our neighbours in Alberta suffered a long, slow down-turn in the oil patch. The fire in Fort McMurray this summer was a national low point without question.
Logging and mining in the Kootenays have also been under considerable pressure, as the broader economy engendered slack demand for our important resources. We’ve grown used to these commodity boom-and-bust cycles, but they’re never easy to absorb and one never knows how long they will last.
However, as a retailer of one of the world’s most impressive auto brands — Nissan now not only counts Renault and Infiniti among its partners, but has also recently joined forces with Mitsubishi to broaden its reach — we’ve been on a steady growth pattern that has benefitted car buyers and the automotive retail sector alike.
A healthy company typically produces better products at better prices than its competitors.
It could be said that Nissan has got its swagger back, but it’s important to note that it’s a smart, adaptive company with a stable and humble leadership team devoted to innovation and success.
In 2016 we saw the all-new TITAN XD extra-duty pickup truck with both gasoline and diesel V8 engines come to market in our truck-loving community. It’s been exciting to welcome this new player!
While the competition in the full-size truck sector is extremely challenging, we feel good about Nissan’s ground game, the remarkable new updates and technology built into every new TITAN, and the announcement and manufacturer support of the Best Truck Warranty in Canada!
On that point alone, I personally urge future truck buyers to look at the value, quality and backing of the nation’s most comprehensive truck warranty on the nation’s newest truck — the all-new Nissan TITAN.
As 2017 TITANs roll off the production line in Tennessee and make their way to our showroom in Cranbrook, we’ll be seeing this year new offerings from Nissan in regular and extended-cab configurations, more trim levels and options, and the confidence that these trucks are as good or better than those offered by the Big Three.
Additionally, we saw the all-new Nissan Armada full-sized SUV arrive, and quickly get snapped up by discriminating buyers. Sales of the highly sophisticated and wonderfully attractive Nissan Murano also exceeded expectations in 2016, and we’ve requested more in 2017 to meet demand.
Nissan has been a leader in creating fresh new designs across its entire lineup, and I, for one, believe the vehicles have never looked or performed better. Their quality is second to none, and the innovations in content offerings, safety, style and design make them an exceptional value in any head-to-head comparison, foreign or domestic.
We’ve also been recently introduced to the mid-cycle upgrade of the 2017 Nissan Rogue, which is now an IIHS Safety Pick+ when equipped with driver-assist technologies that include lane-departure and frontal-collision warnings and autonomous corrective features that aid the driver.
The 2016 version of this attractive compact SUV has been tallying record sales across the country, and we expect even better results locally with the new model. We even have a Star Wars Limited Edition available for pop-culture fans or collectors!
Another exciting addition for 2017 will be the Sentra SR Turbo, which will churn out a robust 188 hp! The stylish compact sedan is one of the most attractive in the segment, and the new engine and additional safety features will enhance its performance characteristics by a wide margin.
I could go on, but let me close by simply saying that everything we do at Sun Valley Nissan is organized with our customers in mind.
Our products and services are only as good as folks who ultimately come to choose, use and appreciate them. We will always work together to support the the families who decide to do business with us, and we will listen to them unfailingly.
We will work to make our processes more convenient and our services and products more affordable or valueable. We’re here to solve problems and make life better for those who partner with us. It’s as simple as that.
And as we peer into the future and look headlong at the year that will be 2017, we are reminded that we are all part of virtuous circle that starts with the trust and confidence of people like you, our customers. It’s our aim never to treat that casually or carelessly. You have my word!
May you all enjoy a healthy, safe and prosperous New Year! Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Jim Szakacs
